About Ruth’s Table

About Me

I am a wife, believer in Jesus Christ, artist, photographer, lover of literature, baker and wanna-be chef.  I am a Northern country girl transplanted to a Southern city.  I am a self proclaimed foodie and cork dork.  I am adventurous when it comes to all things culinary.  Give me a challenge and I will meet it head on!  I find great joy in the creative process whether it be in front of a canvas or standing over a sizzling pan.  And wine (or a martini) is the perfect accompaniment for either activity!

I am embarking on a new chapter in my life and I’m looking forward to sharing my journey.  Bon appetit!

About Ruth’s Table

Ruth’s Table is exactly that.  A table.  Pure and simple.  It is a piece of nostalgia that sits in the eating nook of my apartment.  Sometimes cluttered with the shrapnel of life, sometimes as a resting place for cooling cookies or cakes, sometimes with friends gathered in community.  It is the table that lived in the kitchen of my Great-Grandmother Ruth.  It has seen dozens of cookies and pounds of homemade candy.  It has seen triumph and heart break.  It has seen children and grandchildren grow up and move away. But most important of all it has seen LOVE.

  1. Amanda, this touched me so. I wish I had read this before the book was published….I would have pulled quotes from it! Just love what you said! And, love “Ruth’s Table”…… I so resonate with that as I have my great grandparents table on my front porch! 😉
